Wangfujing Catholic Church also known as Catholic East Church, was established in 1655 and rebuilt in 1904. It was originally built by two foreign priests during Emperor Shunzhi’s reign in Qing Dynasty. Wangfujing Catholic Church is a church designed in Roman architectural style and it is the model of the perfect fusion of Chinese and Western Architectural styles. Wangfujing Catholic Church appears more mystical and antique surrounded in with modern buildings. Wangfujing Catholic Church is located in downtown Wangfujing Street; it is one of the best-preserved religious sites in the heart of Beijing. The church underwent a latest renovation in 2008. The church is built over 1.2 hectares land, square in shape with lush green trees, grass and sparkling neon lights compliment the gorgeous building at night.
