Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
Jerusalem has been a bone of contention for various religions. Jews, Christians and Muslims lays claim on Jerusalem basing it on history, religion, geography, location, occupation, sacred buildings and various such like grounds. History tells us that people living in existing Jerusalem has always been suffering from wars, attacks, terrorism, rockets , controversies, uncertainty and power tussles. Living in such situation is mentally and physically taxing. Similarly people in other parts of the world are also suffering from terrorism, food shortages, poverty, disease, sickness, exploitation, tension and numerous other problems. Family values, social interaction and concept of social support is diminishing, human being are becoming lonelier day by day. In the above versus we see a new heaven, a new earth and a New Jerusalem where God shall dwell with us. There would be no death, no mourning, no pain, no suffering and God would be there to wipe our tiers. The question is “ Are we prepared for the Kingdom of God”. We must stop fighting for this land full of miseries and sufferings and we should prepare ourselves to be part on new heaven, new earth and new Jerusalem.
May God bless us all
