Daily Strength – God planned to bless us

Old Testament

“I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.

Genesis 12:2-3

New Testament

He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”

Luke 11:28

That the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Galatians 3: 14

Food for Thought
While reading Holy Bible, we observe that in old testament, God had a very intimate involvement with Israelites, God followed and monitored the Israel very closely and He rewarded and punished them regularly for their good or bad deeds. We also observe that almost every time the conversation of God with the Israelites was through his chosen people like Moses. When we read New Testament, we find out that now God was directly talking to his people. Jesus Christ came on earth and established a direct link between God and mankind. Apparently, it seems that all these actions of God were evolutionary and over period of time God realized that certain actions should be modified to get better results. If you carefully read and analyze Bible, we will realize that God always had a plan for everything and everything is moving according to that plan. I give you an example; the God had a plan to bless all people on the earth as is evident from Genesis 12:2-3 and he blesses us all through His Only Son Jesus Christ, provided we hear the word of God and obey it.

May God Bless us all
