Codex Sinaiticus
Codex Sinaiticus

The Pentateuch was written by Moses, first in Bible(1400 B.C), and Revelation was written by John, last in Bible(68 A.D), order of the very first and last parts of the our English Bible is indeed chronological. The order of the Hebrew Bible, for example, is somewhat different from the order we are familiar with (e.g., 1&2 Chronicles are the very last books, with Daniel placed along with Ezra and Nehemiah just before them). Semi-complete manuscript of New Testament, Codex Sinaiticus, places Hebrews before Paul’s Pastoral Epistles, and Acts comes before James. Still, the first five books (“believed to be of Moses“) are universally first in the Old Testament just as the gospels are in the New Testament, with the book of Revelation universally last. Only approximate dates of Books of the Bible can begiven . Psalms, for example, was written by a variety of authors and spans at least several generations beginning with David.

Genesis through Esther is primarily historical, Job through Song of Solomon is poetry, and Isaiah through Malachi is prophecy. Similarly, Matthew through Acts is historical, Romans through Jude are Letters To Churches or individuals, Revelation is prophecy.

Codex Sinaiticus: A collection of ancient manuscript texts, especially of the Biblical Scriptures, in book form.
