Food for Thought

Ten Lepers
Ten Lepers

A woman saw a land turtle drowning in her swimming pool, land turtles perhaps cannot swim. She jumped in swimming pool rescued and placed the turtle on the land, the turtle moved away slowly without looking back and without making any gesture of gratitude. The turtle did not have ability to respond and express gratitude. In our daily life, we often come across people who do not respond to our kindness according to our desires or standards, often we are dejected. Bible tells us the story of ten lepers; Jesus healed ten leapers and only one leper returned back to thank Jesus, rest nine lepers did not have sense to respond to great act of kindness by Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ did not stop healing the sick and continued with it. Sometime people do not respond to our good deeds, we should not get disheartened and cease our good work, we must understand that these people has not developed sense of gratitude, therefore they are unable to respond, furthermore, all our good work shall be for Christ only otherwise we are not Christians.

“In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”  1 Thessalonians 5:18
