Power of Believing

And Jesus said to him, “‘If you can’! All things are possible for one who believes.”

Mark 9:23noahs-ark

Believing or having faith is the first thing in our life that moves us towards achieving great things. We often pretend and do not really believe on what we are saying. Jesus always knew that we as human being are weak in developing strong believe, therefore, many times he said “let it happen as you believe”

Charles Blondin was a famous French tightrope walker, Blondin’s greatest fame came on September 14, 1860, when he became the first person to cross a tightrope stretched 11,000 feet (over a quarter of a mile) across the mighty Niagara Falls. People from both Canada and America came from miles away to see this great feat. He walked across, 160 feet above the falls, several times… each time with a different daring feat – once in a sack, on stilts, on a bicycle, in the dark, and blindfolded.

One time Blondin carefully walked across pushing a wheelbarrow holding a sack of potatoes. Upon reaching the other side, the crowd’s applause was louder than the roar of the falls! Blondin suddenly stopped and addressed his audience: “Do you believe I can carry a person across in this wheelbarrow?” The crowd enthusiastically yelled, “Yes! Blondin asked for a volunteer, nobody came out.

In bible, we see various people having very strong believe. Young David believing that he can defeat a strong person like Goliath and did so. Noah built an ark believing that there would be rains that will wash away everything and it happened so. Abraham, Moses, Joshua, Ester, Joseph, Daniel, Paul and others were all very strong believers and God blessed them with abundance. We cannot achieve anything great unless we have faith like David, Noah, Ester, Paul and other biblical personalities.

He said to them, “…For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”

Matthew 17:20
